He was arrested on January 14, 2026, at the Kotoka International Airport, following weeks of evading security agencies after Abu Trica’s arrest.
Background to Abu Trica’s Arrest
Abu Trica, whose real name is Frederick Kumi, also known as Emmanuel Kojo Baah Obeng, was arrested on December 11, 2025, in a joint operation involving the FBI and Ghanaian security agencies.
His arrest was linked to alleged wire fraud activities, sparking nationwide attention and intense discussions on social media.
Daniel Yusif Went Into Hiding
Following Abu Trica’s arrest, Daniel Yusif reportedly went into hiding, prompting security agencies to intensify efforts to locate him.
Reports indicate that he made several attempts to leave Ghana through different land borders, but was unsuccessful due to heightened security surveillance.

Broadcaster Blakk Rasta revealed that Daniel Yusif’s wife was initially taken into police custody as part of efforts to pressure him to surrender himself.
Despite this move, Daniel reportedly refused to turn himself in and continued searching for ways to escape the country.
Security Operatives Block His Escape
Unknown to him, security agencies had already stationed operatives at key exit points across the country, including airports and borders.
This led to his eventual arrest when he attempted to flee Ghana via Kotoka International Airport.
First Court Appearance
Daniel Yusif made his first court appearance on Friday, January 16, 2026, as investigations into the alleged wire fraud case continue.
