Hayford Arrested for Posting Explicit Videos on Snapchat

Hayford arrested by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Ghana Police Service after allegedly sharing obscene content online.

The suspect, identified as Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford, a 23-year-old student and popular social media user, was apprehended after officers conducting routine cyber patrol discovered intimate videos circulating online that allegedly involved him.

Police say the arrest was made following investigations into the distribution of explicit content on social media platforms.

Videos allegedly shared on Snapchat

According to a police report released on February 27, 2026, the videos were posted on a public Snapchat account identified as @biggforddd123.

Authorities indicated that the recordings involved multiple women and were allegedly made between 2023 and January 26, 2026.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to posting the videos on February 25, 2026.

Suspect cites TikTok challenge

Investigators said Hayford explained that he uploaded the videos as part of a trending activity on social media.

Police stated that the suspect claimed the recordings were shared as part of a TikTok challenge known as “Auntie Shakira.”

He also reportedly admitted to recording another intimate video in 2023 and selling it to a woman in the United States identified as Naya for $600, which was approximately GH¢6,500 at the time.

Woman featured in video invited for questioning

Police said one of the women appearing in the videos, identified as Portia Ampofo, was invited to the police station to assist with investigations.

Authorities added that after preliminary investigations, the suspect was handed over to the Special Investigation Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department to support further enquiries.

Suspect granted police enquiry bail

Following the initial interview and evidence gathered so far, Hayford arrested in the case has been granted police enquiry bail while investigations continue.

The Ghana Police Service says further enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the recording and distribution of the videos.

Police warn against sharing explicit content online

Police have cautioned the public against posting obscene materials on social media platforms.

Authorities stressed that sharing explicit content online is an offence under Section 280 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The police added that cyber patrol operations will continue as part of efforts to ensure responsible use of the internet in Ghana.
