NIA Confirms Fee Increase for Ghana Card Services
The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced an increase in fees for selected Ghana Card services, effective immediately.
The announcement was made in a post shared on the Authorityโs official Facebook page on Wednesday, January 22, 2026. According to the NIA, the price adjustment is aimed at maintaining and improving the quality of service delivery across the country.
Services Affected by the New Charges
The NIA stated that the revised fees apply to a number of key services offered to the public. These include:
- First-time Ghana Card registration
- Updates to personal information
- Replacement of lost or damaged Ghana Cards
- Nationality updates
- Registration for non-citizen ID cards
The Authority explained that these services require increased operational resources, making the adjustment necessary.

Reason for the Fee Adjustment
According to the NIA, the increase is intended to support the sustainability and efficiency of its operations. The Authority believes the revised fees will help improve service delivery and ensure continued nationwide access to Ghana Card services.
