How Armed Thugs Stormed Akoti Health Centre to Attack Patient

Incident Sparks Fear at Akoti Health Centre

Health workers at the Akoti Health Centre in Assin Wurakese, within the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region, have threatened to abandon their posts after a violent attack inside the facility.

The shocking incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of health workers and patients at the centre.

How the Attack Happened

According to reports, the violence followed a cutlass fight between a man identified as Yaw Buabeng and a couple. During the clash, all parties reportedly sustained injuries.

One of the victims, Daniel, who suffered deep cuts on his arm, arrived first at the health centre and received treatment.

Moments later, Yaw Buabeng, who was bleeding heavily from head and hand injuries, was rushed to the same facility for medical care.

Armed Thug Storm Facility

While nurses were treating Buabeng, about 10 young men, armed with machetes, sticks, and clubs, allegedly stormed the health centre.

They attacked Buabeng inside the facility, beating him severely until he reportedly fell into a coma.

Fearing for their lives, on-duty nurses fled the health centre, completely abandoning their posts during the attack.

Health Workers Demand Action

Following the incident, health workers are demanding:

• A full police investigation
• The immediate arrest of all attackers
• Improved security at the health facility

They have warned that if no action is taken, they will seek transfers due to serious safety concerns.

The case has since been reported to the Assin Fosu District Police Command, which is expected to begin investigations.
