Man Arrested Over Girlfriend’s Death in Awutu Senya West
Police have arrested a 30-year-old man identified as Moses for the suspected murder of his girlfriend, popularly known as Sister Yaa, at Yamoah Nkwanta in the Awutu Senya West District.
According to reports, the suspect, who lives in Oboman in the Ga South Municipality, visited the deceased to spend the night at her home. A serious argument reportedly started after the woman refused his sexual advances.
Police say the suspect allegedly attacked her with a machete, dragged her outside the room, and later used a concrete block to hit her head, leading to her death.

Police Arrest Suspect, Investigations Ongoing
The Chief of Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta, Nai Achiene Acheampong Kuma, alerted the police after learning about the incident. Officers arrived quickly, arrested the suspect, and moved him to the Awutu Ofaakor District Police Command for further investigations.
The body of the deceased has been sent to the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy, while efforts are ongoing to reach her family.
The incident has raised fresh concerns about domestic and gender-based violence in communities.
