Fish Seller Alleges Dollar Scam
A local fish seller has narrated how she was allegedly defrauded by two Ghanaian men and a foreign national who used fake US dollars to buy her fish.
According to the woman, the incident happened when the three men approached her stall and insisted on buying her entire stock at once.
Buyers Paid With Fake Dollars
The fish seller said the men appeared convincing and paid her with US dollar notes, which she initially believed were genuine.
After the buyers left with all her fish, she went to a forex bureau to change the dollars into cedis. It was there she was informed that the money was fake.

Seller Suffers Huge Loss
By the time she discovered the scam, the buyers were already gone and all her fish had been taken, leaving her with a huge financial loss.
Traders React, Urge Caution
The incident has raised concern among traders, with many advising sellers to be extra careful when accepting foreign currency, especially from unfamiliar customers.
Some have called on authorities to investigate the case and take steps to prevent similar scams in the future.
