Antoine Semenyo Scores on Debut as Manchester City Beat Exeter 10–1

Manchester City Run Riot at Etihad

Manchester City delivered a ruthless performance on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 10–1 victory over Exeter City to book their place in the FA Cup fourth round at the Etihad Stadium.

The Premier League giants proved far too strong for the League One side, matching the club’s biggest-ever win in all competitions.

Manchester City 4–0 Up Before Half-Time

City dominated possession from the start and went into the break 4–0 ahead.

  • Max Alleyne opened the scoring in the 12th minute
  • Captain Rodri smashed in a stunning 30-yard strike
  • Exeter’s Jake Doyle-Hayes and Jack Fitzwater both scored unfortunate own goals

Despite the scoreline, Exeter had early chances and could have taken a shock lead, but James Trafford made a sharp save to deny Liam Oakes.

Manchester City Show No Mercy

Manchester City continued their scoring spree as:

  • Tijjani Reijnders curled in a brilliant seventh
  • Substitute Nico O’Reilly headed home the eighth
  • Ryan McAidoo, just 17, drilled in the ninth

Exeter did grab a late consolation through a stunning strike from George Birch, but Rico Lewis completed the rout with his second goal of the match to seal a 10–1 win.

Guardiola Watches From the Stands

City boss Pep Guardiola, serving a one-match touchline ban, watched from the stands as his strong starting XI overwhelmed a side two divisions below.

The emphatic win sends Manchester City into the FA Cup fourth round, with the draw set to take place on Monday.

Historic Victory for the Citizens

The result matched City’s famous 10–1 win over Huddersfield Town in 1987, with an almost identical scoring pattern — 4–0 at half-time, 9–0 before a late consolation, then a final goal to reach double figures.
