Russian Man Yaytseslav Deletes TikTok Videos Amid Ghana Backlash
Russian content creator faces criticism after secretly recording Ghanaian women and sharing footage online.

Vyacheslav Trahov also known as Yaytseslav, who claims to be Russian, has gone viral online after videos showing his interactions with Ghanaian women surfaced on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
Many of the videos showed him moving around the Accra Mall area, engaging female shoppers and other passersby. In several instances, he invited the women to his apartment and secretly recorded their conversations and encounters using Meta smart glasses without their consent.
In many of the clips, Yaytseslav convinced the women to exchange phone numbers with him before persuading them to visit his residence later. These interactions were recorded and uploaded online.
Following the encounters, the content was shared across platforms including TikTok, YouTube, and Telegram. While short excerpts appeared publicly on TikTok and YouTube, full-length videos were reportedly made available on a private Telegram channel for a monthly subscription fee of five dollars.
One of the videos, which amassed over 1.6 million views on TikTok, showed a woman Trahov met while shopping at the mall following him home without prolonged conversation. The footage sparked widespread outrage among Ghanaians, with many questioning how he was able to operate in the country without intervention.

Yaytseslav Deletes Videos
Amid the backlash, Yaytseslav deleted videos of his Ghana escapades from his official TikTok account. A review of the page shows that only videos recorded outside Ghana remain publicly visible.
He has also made his TikTok account private, restricting access to his content as the controversy continues. In addition, Trahov changed his TikTok username from โyaytseslav_officialโ to a different name in what appears to be an attempt to limit public identification.
Public Reaction and Ongoing Concerns
The controversy has triggered mixed reactions on social media. While some users condemned the actions and called for investigations, others debated privacy, consent, and content monetisation. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
