iPhone 18 Pro Features That Could Tempt You to Upgrade
Leaked upgrades point to design, camera, chip and battery improvements.

iPhone 18 Pro features are beginning to surface ahead of Appleโs expected flagship launch later this year, with leaks suggesting notable improvements in design, performance, cameras and battery life.
While the iPhone 17 Pro still feels recent, industry watchers say Apple is already preparing refinements that could make the next Pro models more appealing to users who skipped the previous generation.
More Colour Options Expected
One rumoured upgrade is expanded colour choices. Since Appleโs shift from aluminium to titanium frames, the company has reportedly found it easier to introduce bolder finishes.
Leaks from Asia suggest Apple is considering new brown, purple and burgundy colour options for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, although a traditional black variant may still be absent.
Smaller Dynamic Island
Another anticipated change involves the Dynamic Island. Since its debut in 2022, the feature has remained largely unchanged in size.

Reports indicate that Apple may slightly reduce the Dynamic Island by moving some Face ID components beneath the display, though a full hole-punch design is not expected this year.

Camera Improvements on the Way
Camera upgrades are also central to leaked iPhone 18 Pro features.
Both Pro models are expected to receive an improved telephoto lens with a wider aperture than the current f/2.8 setup. Additionally, Apple is reportedly testing a variable aperture system for the main camera on the iPhone 18 Pro Max, offering better depth control and flexibility in bright conditions.
Appleโs In-House Modem Expansion
Appleโs custom modem technology could expand across the entire lineup this year. All iPhone 18 models are expected to feature the C2 modem, which is said to be more power-efficient than earlier versions.
Some rumours also suggest the modem may support satellite-based 5G data, expanding current satellite functionality beyond emergency messaging.
A20 Pro Chip Performance Boost

A20 Pro Chip
At the heart of the device will be the A20 Pro chip, reportedly built on a 2-nanometre process. This next-generation silicon is expected to deliver noticeable gains in speed and energy efficiency.
Apple may also debut an upgraded N2 networking chip, following the introduction of the N1 in the iPhone 17 series.
Bigger Battery, Longer Use
Battery life is another focus of leaked iPhone 18 Pro features. Early information suggests the iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a battery around 5,200mAh, up from approximately 5,088mAh in its predecessor.
Combined with improved efficiency from the new chip and modem, real-world battery performance could see meaningful gains.
What This Means for Buyers
With rumours pointing to refined hardware, camera flexibility and no expected price increase, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup could appeal strongly to users holding onto older models.
