Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Communications Minister Mohammed Sukparu are receiving medical care after a convoy accident on the Bolgatangaโ€“Tumu Road.

The Haruna Iddrisu road accident has been officially confirmed by the Office of the Minister for Education, following a traffic incident involving the ministerโ€™s convoy on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

The accident occurred along the Bolgatangaโ€“Tumu Road while the Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were traveling to the Upper West Region for official duties.

Ministers Were On Route to Official Engagements

According to the statement, the ministers and their teams were on their way to participate in activities marking the 40th Anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education when the incident occurred.

All Convoy Members Stable

In a statement signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, authorities confirmed that all members of the convoy survived the accident and are currently receiving medical attention.

Officials reassured the public that both ministers and their aides are in stable condition, with no fatalities recorded.
