Kwesi Arthur’s Father Breaks Silence on Ground Up Dispute

Samuel Danso Arthur says the ongoing feud has become painful and overwhelming

Father Speaks Amid Kwesi Arthur–Ground Up Feud

Samuel Danso Arthur, father of award-winning Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur, has publicly spoken about the escalating dispute between his son and former management company, Ground Up Chale, describing it as deeply painful and emotionally disturbing.

His comments come after Kwesi Arthur made a series of public allegations against Ground Up and its CEO, accusing them of extortion, intimidation, excessive financial demands, and deliberate attempts to block his independent music releases.

Dispute Has Taken a Personal Toll

In an interview shared online, Samuel Danso Arthur said watching the conflict play out publicly has been far from what he ever imagined for his son’s career.

According to him, the situation has become emotionally draining, especially claims that the label controls Kwesi Arthur’s intellectual property, including the right to use his image.

He expressed frustration that even as a father, he feels powerless over matters involving his own child.

“Bring Back My Sperm” — Father’s Emotional Statement

In a striking and emotional remark, Danso Arthur said he does not have the financial means to “buy back” his son’s independence but questioned the basis of the label’s claims.

“I don’t even have the right to use the image of my child to do anything. I am a simple, ordinary, poor Ghanaian. I don’t need money. I’m not looking for money,” he said.

“But I am putting it to Kwesi’s management that they should bring back my sperm. I can donate it to any nearby hospital for them to produce another Kwesi for me. And if they can do that, then whatever they are demanding from my boy, if it is a loan we have to take, we are ready.”

Calls for Truth and Accountability

Beyond the emotional outburst, the rapper’s father stressed that he wants clarity and accountability from all parties involved.

He said the daily public exchanges between Kwesi Arthur and Ground Up have become overwhelming and unproductive.

“As a father, I have to push to every extent possible to get the truth out. Right now, the daily back-and-forth has become too much,” he said.

“I am going to take it up and push both the management and my boy to the wall to get the truth out of it. But right now, Ground Up is taking custody of my blood.”

Matter Continues to Draw Public Attention

The dispute has sparked intense public debate about artist contracts, intellectual property rights, and power imbalance within the Ghanaian music industry.

As of now, Ground Up Chale has not issued a detailed public response to the father’s comments, while fans continue to call for transparency and resolution.
