IShowSpeed Breaks Silence on Lagos Influencer Snub Claims
American streamer says his โSpeed Does Africaโ tour is focused on culture, streets, and everyday African talent โ not influencer meetups.
Global American online streamer IShowSpeed has responded to criticism surrounding his ongoing Africa tour, insisting the trip is not centered on influencer collaborations, but on highlighting African culture, street life, and everyday people.
The clarification comes after backlash from some Nigerian content creators, who accused the streamer of ignoring collaboration requests during his recent visit to Lagos.
Viral Lagos Livestream Sparks Online Debate
Speedโs first full day in Lagos, streamed live on Wednesday, attracted massive crowds and produced viral moments that spread rapidly across social media in Africa and beyond.
While many viewers praised the raw, unfiltered experience of Lagos street life, others questioned why Speed appeared to avoid meeting popular Nigerian creators during his stay.

Nigerian Creators Accuse Speed of Snubbing Collaborations
The criticism intensified after several Nigerian content creators claimed Speed ignored repeated requests to collaborate.
Fans particularly pushed for a meetup with Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, a TikTok and Kick streamer.
Pellerโs Dramatic Attempts Go Viral
Peller made several bold attempts to get Speedโs attention, including trying to climb Speedโs vehicle and later riding a horse through traffic.
In a viral video, Peller was heard saying:
โPlease, Iโm a streamer. Iโm big. Please letโs do something. I have suffered because of you.โ
Speed did not respond and continued with his scheduled activities, sparking heated discussions online.
โThis Tour Is Not About Influencersโ โ Speed Explains
Responding to the criticism, IShowSpeed said many people misunderstood the goal of the tour.
โThis tour is not about collaborations with influencers or streamers.โ
He explained that the focus is on showcasing African culture, local talent, and people who rarely receive global exposure.
โComplaining Creators Already Have Audiencesโ
Speed added that most creators expressing dissatisfaction already have established platforms.
โA lot of the people complaining already have audiences, while this tour is meant to give exposure to people who normally donโt get it.โ
Tight Schedule Leaves No Room for Influencer Meetups
The streamer also clarified that his daily movements are strictly controlled by his team.
โEvery day on this tour is scheduled โ the locations, the time, everything.
Cutting short cultural visits or cancelling plans made by local communities would be disrespectful.โ
He emphasized that the tour is about street performers, local artists, and communities with real talent that often go unseen globally.
