One Killed, Several Injured in Winneba Youth Violence

One person has been reported dead following a clash between two youth factions in Sankor, Winneba, in the Central Region.

While the exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear, videos circulating online show members of the groups inflicting machete wounds on one another in violent scenes that shocked residents and netizens alike.

Police Confirm Injuries and Arrests

According to the Winneba Divisional Police Commander, ACP Ibrahim Opoku, “several persons got injured in the clash which occurred Sunday, January 25.”

Police have since arrested multiple suspects after reviewing video footage of the incident. The arrests come as law enforcement continues to intensify operations within the affected community.

One Fatality Identified by Media

Media outlet Citi News has gathered that one individual, identified as Excoba, died after sustaining multiple machete and gunshot wounds during the clash.

Calm Restored in Sankor

The circumstances surrounding the fatal injuries are still under investigation, as police work to piece together how the violent incident escalated.

Following the violence, police say they have restored calm in the community through strengthened patrols and heightened presence in key areas.
