A course representative at a university in Nigeria has been arrested following allegations by course mates that he inflated the price of a compulsory course book and misappropriated funds.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media after details of the alleged misconduct emerged online.

Alleged Price Inflation

According to reports circulating online, the class representative sold a compulsory course material that was meant to cost ₦3,500 (about GHS 29) for ₦8,500 (about GHS 80).

Students claim the significant price difference raised concerns about possible financial misconduct.

Suspicion Raised by Lifestyle Change

Suspicion reportedly intensified after course mates noticed that the class representative had upgraded his phone from an iPhone XR to an iPhone 16 within a short period.
