Car Dealer Killed in Oyibi has become a major talking point after a young man identified as Theophilus Ashitey was reportedly murdered following a meeting with suspected car buyers.
The incident occurred in Oyibi, where the victim had arranged to meet individuals who had expressed interest in purchasing a vehicle he advertised online.
Events leading to the incident
According to reports, Ashitey left his residence to finalise the sale, accompanied by a friend, Wisdom Tetteh.
Shortly after the meeting, he was reported missing, raising alarm among family members and prompting a police investigation.
Arrest and confession
The Ghana Police Service later arrested Tetteh in connection with the case.
Authorities say the suspect allegedly confessed to his involvement in the killing, which was reportedly linked to the planned car sale meeting.
Attempt to conceal evidence
Investigators indicate that the suspect allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by burning the victim’s body in a bush area near the University of Ghana.
Ongoing investigations
Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
They are also working to establish whether other individuals were involved in the crime.
