A young man who was hired as a Mobile Money (MoMo) worker has reportedly run away with GH¢8,000 on his first day at work. The shocking incident is said to have happened on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, as reported by Crime Check TV.
How It Happened
According to the report, the suspect visited a MoMo shop and asked the owner for a job. The shop owner, touched by his request, decided to help him and offered to train him. He took the young man through how to handle transactions and attend to customers.
However, later in the day, the new worker asked to use the washroom. At the same time, the MoMo agent stepped out to attend to something nearby. It was during this short moment that the new worker allegedly opened the cash drawer and ran away with more than GH¢8,000.
Suspect Missing
The suspect has since gone into hiding. Attempts to call him have failed as his phone is switched off.
A video showing the alleged suspect has been shared online. The public is being encouraged to help trace him.
