Former District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Mr. Osborn K. Divine Fenu, has passed away in a fatal road accident that occurred on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
According to family sources, Mr. Fenu was returning to Accra after attending a family event in his hometown when the accident happened near the Central University area at Miotso, along the Tema-Aflao highway.
He was rushed to the Tema General Hospital for emergency care but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Tributes Pour In
News of his passing has left many in shock across the North Tongu District and the Volta Region. Residents, political leaders, and community members have described his death as a great loss to the district.
Many remember him as a calm, dedicated, and service-driven leader who worked closely with communities.
Public Service and Community Impact
Mr. Fenu served as DCE from 2021 to January 2025 under the Akufo-Addo administration. Before his appointment, he worked with the Ghana Education Service (GES) as a teacher, where he earned respect for supporting education development.
He is also remembered for his leadership during the October 2023 Akosombo Dam spillage, where thousands were affected. His coordination of relief efforts brought him praise and admiration.
