Tragic Incident in Majengo, Songe
An entire village in Kenya has been left in shock after a 13-year-old boy, Yosia Benjamini, died under mysterious circumstances following an attack by a chicken.
According to the boy’s father, the strange incident happened on Sunday night at their family home in Majengo, Songe. Yosia, a Grade Seven pupil, had gone to bed in good health but suddenly woke up screaming in pain after a chicken allegedly began pecking him repeatedly.
Father Recounts the Shocking Moment
“I rushed to his room when I heard him cry out. The chicken was still attacking him, and I quickly chased it away,” the heartbroken father said.
Yosia seemed calm afterward, but minutes later, his condition worsened. “He started complaining of chest pain and difficulty breathing. We rushed him to the nearest clinic, but he was pronounced dead on arrival,” he added.
Villagers Suspect Witchcraft or Spiritual Forces
The tragic death has stunned residents, with some villagers suggesting witchcraft or spiritual causes behind the rare attack.
“This is not normal. We’ve lived with chickens all our lives, and none has ever attacked a human like this,” one villager said, calling on elders to perform cleansing rituals to remove any evil spirits.

Authorities Begin Investigation
Local authorities have confirmed the unusual incident and launched investigations to find out the real cause of death. Health officials have also taken samples from the chicken for laboratory testing.
Community Mourns a Bright Student
Teachers described Yosia as a bright and respectful student who loved school. He was laid to rest on Tuesday, as emotional villagers and family members demanded answers to the mysterious tragedy that claimed his young life.
